2025 theme: Nobody Knows

Today marks Dying to Know Day, a national campaign dedicated to sparking honest, empowering conversations about end-of-life planning. The mission? To help Australians approach the inevitable not with fear, but with purpose, love, and a deep sense of legacy.

This year’s theme, Nobody Knows, takes a bold and irreverent approach to a serious truth: if you don’t share your end-of-life wishes, your loved ones are left to guess. That can lead to confusion, conflict, and missed opportunities for care that truly reflects your values. At the heart of the campaign is a simple but powerful call to action: The Secret I’m Glad I Shared.

In 2025, the campaign also highlights the importance of intergenerational conversations. A 2022 YouGov survey revealed that only 53% of Australians feel comfortable discussing end-of-life matters with a family member. Dying to Know Day offers a chance to change that—by creating inclusive spaces where people of all ages can share their stories and wishes around death, dying, and grief.

Palliative Care SA (PCSA) is proud to support this important initiative.
