Dying to talk

Dying to Talk aims to reach into the community to normalise early conversations about the end of life, rather than waiting until more time critical or medical focused discussions need to occur. The resources have been developed to help Australians work out what’s right for them if they were very sick or at the end of their lives.

CareSearch is an online resource designed to help those needing relevant and trustworthy information and resources about palliative care. Health professionals can find clinical summaries and tools to help retrieve evidence, and information on palliative care research processes and projects. There are specific knowledge resources for nurses, GPs and allied health, as well as resources dealing with residentail aged care and Aboriginal anfd Torres Strait Islander care.

Palliative Care Nurses Australia (PCNA) is a member organisation for Australian nurses who are passionate about excellence in palliative care. They provide a unified voice for nurses who deliver, or have an enduring interest in, palliative care policy, practice, research and education.

A standardised process for the development and implementation of a clinical care plan which documents treatment decisions relating to a patient’s resuscitation and end-of-life care.

PaCE – the Palliative Care Education Directory app

PaCE is a resource directory for educators and health and aged care providers in the form of a mobile-responsive web-based app. PaCE helps you find learning and teaching resources that support the development of specific palliative care capabilities for a variety of professions and practice contexts. The directory includes information about particular learning approaches and modes of delivery for each resource. The app is free to use, and all learning resources are free to access.

Australian Indigenous Health Network (Palliative Care)

Information about publications, policies, programs, resources and organisations which are relevant to the end of life care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It includes information on culturally appropriate palliative care, as well as cultural perspectives on dying, death, grief and sorry business in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
