What an event! OPCC2025 in Brisbane

September 2025

What an event! – Oceanic Palliative Care Conference (OPCC) in Brisbane, a conference that brought together over 1,600 people to share knowledge, spark discussions, and celebrate achievements in palliative care.

Highlights from South Australia:

– Capturing Connections: A group photo with the SA participants under the blooming jacaranda tree captured a special moment from the event.

– SA Award Winners: Congratulations Women’s and Children’s Health Network Paediatric Palliative Care Team for winning the National Outstanding Work by a Team Award, and Dr Priyanka Vandersman (Flinders University) for winning the Emerging Leader Award

– Spotlight on Presenters: Several SA presenters showcased their work, sparked important conversations, and highlighted the incredible impact of palliative care across the state. PCSA Board Chair, Susan Emerson was delighted to welcome everyone to SA for the next conference and PCSA CEO, Shyla Mills showcased a poster about a new project The Compassionate State Projects (SA and Vic) in collaboration with Palliative Care Victoria, Carers SA, Carers Victoria and Flinders University

Thanks to Palliative Care Australia and Palliative Care Queensland for hosting such an inspiring conference.
