Bringing leaders together during National Advance Care Planning Week to improve outcomes across Australia

Planning is essential for us all. During National Advance Care Planning Week, it was a timely opportunity for leaders of state and territory palliative care peak bodies to come together, collaborate, and plan how we can best support people needing palliative care, along with the health, aged care and disability workforces, and family carers across the country.

Earlier this week in Melbourne, the State and Territory Palliative Care Peak Network meeting brought together leaders from across Australia. This important gathering created space to share insights, discuss challenges, and strengthen collaboration across the palliative care sector.

These conversations continued over two days at the Palliative Care in Aged Care Forum, presented by Palliative Care Australia. The forum provided an opportunity to deepen discussions, explore sector priorities, and focus on improving palliative care outcomes within aged care settings.

Opportunities like these are invaluable. They allow us to connect, learn from one another, and work collectively towards strengthening palliative care systems and improving experiences for individuals, families, and communities across Australia.
